It later moved to the site more recently used by Cains Brewery.Neville Grundyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10923209266005338452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285162121291357473.post-41823695442199004142016-03-24T19:55:11.760+00:002016-03-24T19:55:11.760+00:00We noticed this sign also the other day. Good, long-established attitudes prevailed - they were grateful to us, it was a profitable business. Higsons' Directors wined and dined us and vice versa, customers were happy, <br />shareholders were content, back in the days before big bang deregulation. The only pub I know that does now is the Volunteer Canteen in Waterloo in the lounge. All of these used to be Higsons houses.Neville Grundyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10923209266005338452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285162121291357473.post-1711989987637448312010-04-25T13:55:41.599+01:002010-04-25T13:55:41.599+01:00I too walked past this exact spot when leaving the...I too walked past this exact spot when leaving the Ship & Mitre on the Friday afternoon of their recent Belgium Beer Festival. Higsons bitter has to be one of my all time favourites, their mild was also excellent. I used to drink in the Kensigton. In those days they still had a bell you pressed and a member of staff would come and serve you at the table. Ah happy days...........David Davieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04562923889207393348noreply@blogger.com
