I wrote about one such experience on 2 August.

I don't mind the "closing theatre", except when in winter they decide to wedge all the doors open to freeze you into going. It hasn't gone down too well when I've closed them again. The worst I've come across was a licensee who kept on shouting "f*** off" after time. I did, and haven't been back since. As Cooking Lager implies, we can take our money elsewhere.Neville Grundyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10923209266005338452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285162121291357473.post-79248333292033491842015-12-06T13:16:01.075+00:002015-12-06T13:16:01.075+00:00There's many ways you can signal upcoming clo...There's many ways you can signal upcoming closure of the premises without telling people to drink up and piss off. A lot of pubs engage in what I call "closing theatre" - ostentatious removal of bar mats, removal and cleaning of drip trays etc. This, I presume, is to signal to the remaining punters "Right, we're shutting soon. Get a move on."Lizard Seerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07497330695288945161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285162121291357473.post-56640820799507347912015-12-06T12:36:34.925+00:002015-12-06T12:36:34.925+00:00It's hospitality.
