Despite having become something of a gastro pub in its last incarnation - food prices competing with those in Hampstead, and the beer tariff not lagging too far behind, I always loved that place. If you could ignore the kids' playground/barbecue aspect of the outside area, the canalside grass (no comments!) on a Summer's day with a pint of Landlord could be idyllic.<br />Anyone remember the formal Folk Club, run by the Black Diamonds group, that operated on Tuesday nights throughout the '70s? Held in the long room, (to the left of the bar as one entered,) it booked some big names in its time, had full houses, was well-run and rivalled the dear old Bothy in popularity.
