In May Southport and West Lancs CAMRA is running the Southport Mild Trail. Eight local pubs have agreed to offer customers a cask conditioned mild option for the whole month of May. The participating pubs are:
- The Beer Den.
- The Bold Arms (Churchtown).
- The Cheshire Lines.
- The Corridor.
- The Grasshopper.
- The Guest House.
- Southport & Birkdale Sports Club.
- The Windmill.
My own branch runs a similar event across Stockport, Manchester, Salford and Trafford, albeit with a lot more pubs (around fifty now I think) and, to my mind, unnecessarily convoluted rules, e.g. you can't get a sticker from a pub in more than one town or area, even from a couple of pubs which are next to each other, but well out of the way of the rest of the participating ones by public transport.
ReplyDeleteThe convoluted rules don't surprise me: I sometimes think that some CAMRA activists are wannabe civil servants! This is Southport's first one, hence the small number of pubs, although I have been told by a micropub that they would have joined if they'd known
