8pm Although not officially part of the festival, a blues night with Tom Doughty at the Bothy Folk Club, Park Golf Club, Park Road West. Admission charge applies.
Tom Doughty (Sunday evening) is surely worth seeing. You might think it a limiting way to play guitar - flat on your lap, chording using a metal or glass tube but to have the likes of Woody Mann and Bob Brozman singing your praises must mean that musical imaginations more qualified to pass comment than my own have been fired! Self-writes and classic Delta Blues inform his repertory and an impressive technique allied to an engaging presence make for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Recommended.
