Higsionaries were produced by the former Higson's Brewery of Liverpool, which always had the knack of producing funny, local adverts; their Famous Old Higsonians beermats were legendary, with supposed local Liverpool characters whose names were all based on Merseyside place names: Ann Field, Gwladys Street, Rock Ferry (a local rock star), and Pierre Head.
