CAMRA has just announced this year's Champion Beers of Britain at the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia in London. I've never had most of these beers, and haven't even heard of some of the breweries. Disappointingly, there are no local breweries in the list.

Same here. Most of those beers won't be seen outside a handful of specialist beer pubs, the Barnsley and Boltmaker apart. I come across Tiny Rebel a lot but never heard of Cwtch.
ReplyDeleteI think I've had seven on this list, but most of those are uncommon in these parts.
ReplyDeleteThe Anvil and Wigan Central, both in Wigan are both very adventurous in their beer selections. They often have Tiny Rebel, Dancing Duck, Blue Monkey and Salopian on.
ReplyDeleteI agree they're both good pubs providing, in my view, the best beer choices in Wigan town centre.
