I've received an e-mail from Pete of local band The Runnies, with whom I have shared a billing on a couple of occasions. The band is hosting an open mike night at the Black Bull, Hall Lane, Mawdesley, Lancs on Saturday 5 February. It's not a brand new event - the first was in November last year - but it's the first I've heard of it. Their website will keep you in touch with future ones. 5 real ales, and butties on the night.
